Hot-Filament Diamond-CVD
Using chemical vapour deposition (CVD) we produce
diamond coatings consisting of inumerable small diamond crystals. Complex components as
well as structures of large dimensions can be coated homogeneously.
In a gas phase consisting of hydrogen and methane, radicals are produced on the surface
of a tungsten, tantal or rhenium wire heated up to temperatures of 1800°C to 2500°C. This
leads to growth of diamond crystals on a substrate in the temperature range of
600°C - 950°C. Growth rates are around 0.1 to 1.0 microns per hour.
